    Business or Organizational Initiative

Clean Energy Financing is a new program that allows eligible homeowners to receive low-interest (4%) municipal loans, repayable over 10 years, to implement a wide range of energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to their properties. The program is available to homeowners in the Town of Bridgewater and in the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg. Combined with energy savings, the program aims to leave home owner cash-flow positive from Day 1.  Eligible upgrades include insulation, heating systems, solar technologies, etc.  More information:

  • Benefits for the Community

Homeowners receive guidance in planning and managing their upgrades from qualified energy advisors with the Clean Foundation. In addition, the financing is attached to the property instead of the individual, meaning that it is passed to the new owner if the property is sold, and it is payable through municipal charges just like tax bills. This makes home energy improvements affordable and accessible for more people in the community.
