Meet Energize Bridgewater Summer Staff

We are excited to be working with two Data Support Specialists this summer to help develop our Energy Management Information System. Hargun Chhabra and Shivam Dinesh Rank are both completing their Master of Applied Computer Science at Dalhousie University and we are fortunate to have their support this summer. We asked them both a few questions about themselves to share here.

Q & A with Hargun Chhabra

Why did you want to join the Energize Bridgewater team?

I wanted to Join Energize Bridgewater team because after the interview I realized that I will be working with technology which will be at the end helping people, so nothing is better then learning while contributing to the society.

What are you most excited to accomplish in your work on Energize Bridgewater?

I want to learn about new technologies, especially cloud technologies and I strongly believe that I am already achieving that, and I am also able to impact lives in a positive way with my skills so that’s a cherry on top of the cake.

What was your background (education and/or work) before joining the team?

I did my B.E with specialization in computer Science and engineering from DIT University India, after completing my graduation I worked as a software developer intern, then research advisor at Macsler Techno system LLP in India , Then I started my master’s at Dalhousie University in Master of applied computer science program.

What do you like about living and working in Bridgewater?

It is a very calm and soothing place.

What are some of your hobbies or passions outside of work?

Listening to Music and Learning more about cars (like mechanical stuff although I have no hands on experience with mechanics of cars)

Why did you want to join the Energize Bridgewater team?

When I heard about the Energy Management Information System project I was very much fascinated by the idea and wanted to do something real that contributes to society.

What are you most excited to accomplish in your work on Energize Bridgewater?

When we go live with our consumer portal where people in Bridgewater can see the different analytics, understand what this project is about, and how it will help them.

What was your background (education and/or work) before joining the team?

After this co-op, I will complete my Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science from Dalhousie University. I have completed several Internships in tech stack in my Bachelor's degree in IT.

What do you like about living and working in Bridgewater?

I really like how everyone greets you, even when you're out for a walk and other people are passing by. People over here are welcoming and kind. The working environment is flexible and healthy.

What are some of your hobbies or passions outside of work?

I like to travel a lot and that is why probably every weekend me and my friends used to visit different tourist spots in Nova scotia.
