    Helps Bridgewater homeowners who are income qualified navigate through the Home Energy Assessment and upgrade process. Upgrades like insulation, draft-proofing, heat pumps and more may be available for eligible homeowners, at no cost, or with low-interest financing. We stack all available grants, rebates, and incentives to support you to reduce your energy costs.

    Clean Energy Financing by The Town of Bridgewater

    The Clean Energy Financing Program is a partnership between the Clean Foundation and the Town of Bridgewater to offer low-cost financing (1% interest rate) up to $40,000, impartial expert advise on energy retrofits, help getting provincial and federal rebates, energy savings that pay for the retrofits, and simple program enrolment. The financing is tied to your home. No credit check is required.

    Affordable Multifamily Housing by Efficiency Nova Scotia

    Efficiency Nova Scotia offers up to 80% in rebates on energy efficient upgrades to qualifying multi-unit residential rental properties. The program covers up to 100% for providers of rent-free housing such as shelters and transition houses.

    Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Grant by the Government of Canada

    Helps Canadians who are currently heating their homes with oil make the transition to affordable electric cold-climate heat pumps.

    Heating Assistance Rebate by the Province of Nova Scotia

    Helps low-income Nova Scotians with the cost of home heating. Rebates are $600 for the 2023/24 heating season. Apply by March 31, 2024.

    Senior Care Grant by the Province of Nova Scotia

    Helps low-income seniors with the cost of home heating, home repair, and other expenses. Grant is $750 for the 2023/24. Apply by March 31, 2024.

    Heat Fund by the Salvation Army

    Offers a maximum assistance of $400 for individuals and families if you are in an emergency home heating situation.

    Coordinated Access System by the South Shore Open Doors Association (SSODA)

    The Coordinated Access System connects individuals and families to social service programs related to housing, homelessness, energy, and more.

    Financial Assistance by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul

    Financial assistance with preventing disconnection of service, delivery of fuel and more.

In addition to the resources at the links above, Efficiency Nova Scotia offers free energy efficient product installation. Efficiency Partners will visit your home to install products like LED lighting, faucet aerators and more. If free energy-saving products weren’t enough, Efficiency Nova Scotia will come pick up your old working fridge or freezer and pay you!
